It's a boy!
We're both so excited! He is very healthy so far & everything is on schedule. I'll try to get ultrasound pics up soon, but for now: it's a boy!

Today's the Day!

Enoch and I have our 20-week ultrasound today! I haven't been able to stop thinking about it, not only because we find out the little parasite's gender, but we also get to talk to our doctor about the results from our maternal serum screening which gives us an idea of how likely the baby will have down syndrome, trisomy 18, and spina bifida. It's also always exciting to see the baby and hear the heartbeat. Maybe I'll be able to confirm that the little bubbles and bumps I've been feeling lately are actually the baby moving, and not just pregnant stomach rumbling.
Also, we've gotten our first snow of the season. I just snapped this pic from my front window a few minutes ago. It's actually still snowing, but the flakes are too small to show up in the picture. To be honest, I'm not looking forward to winter and snow; I hate driving in it! However, I am glad that I'm not going to be super pregnant during the heat of summer, or at least I've been told that I should be happy about it from others who have had fall babies (Mom...Britta). Oh well, maybe this means we can have another white Christmas, how's that for looking at the glass half full!

We got a crib!
Skip and Rachel showed up yesterday with a big surprise for us: a crib! They found it for free in good condition with a mattress and sheets so they picked it up and lifted a weight off our shoulders. I can't wait to see it all put together; I just have to get the bedroom cleaned up a bit so there's actually room for it...
Also, Enoch finally brought the camera home so I could download pics from this year, so I will be posting about our trips to Washington, California, and Colorado along with a couple of family get-togethers.
Oh, and the crib has a big drawer beneath it, which Rachel was really excited about, so I'm excited about it too: apparently it's going to be pretty handy for extra sheets and stuff.

Big News!

In fact, I'm sitting on the couch right now, wishing I had ice cream! Hmmm, strange coincidence... The only people who read this blog already know what's going on in my life: I'm pregnant, and therefore tired and cranky most of the time. I started selling Mary Kay in June, but that hasn't really gotten off the ground yet because of the aforementioned tiredness and crankiness. Enoch's doing very well in school with almost a straight A grade-point average, and working very hard. Really the only exciting thing happening is the 20 week ultrasound two weeks from today, when we find out the baby's gender and whatever other measurements and such that they do. The names we like so far are Gideon or Noah for a boy and Zoe or Sophia for a girl.
Enoch and I had some fun trips this summer: I went to Washington in May to visit my grandparents, we both went to Imperial Beach, California for a week with the Lees to visit his grandparents, and then we flew to Denver, Colorado for a weekend to visit Kristiana and Nancy and Mac before they all left for Antarctica. It was nice to do some of that before the baby, but hopefully that's not the last of out travels! However, Enoch was hiding our camera at work until recently so I didn't get very many pictures of those trips or our friendly get-togethers. So for anyone who wants pics with this post, blame Enoch! Just Hangin' Out
Now that I have your attention...Well it's been a while, but that's mostly because nothing way too exciting has happened. Enoch and I are almost finished unpacking (all except the second bedroom, which is quickly collecting stuff that I don't quite what to do with) Um, let's see here...oh! I reached a personal milestone recently: I got to medium difficulty level on the drums on Rock Band! I'm livin' the dream, baby!!! My uncle Matthew's response was something along the lines of "reach for those stars!" Also, and this is actually very exciting, but I didn't get pictures: Asher starting actually walking in our house of all places a few weeks ago!! They weren't his first steps, but it was the longest sequence of steps to date. I'm such a proud un-aunt!!!
Anyway, I'm really excited for spring weather (can't wait for it to stop snowing every other day!), and getting our house put together. Ta-ta for now!

Promised Pics & the Awkward Tour!
I know it took forever for the pics and most of you have already seen what it looks like by now, but here they are anyway. Thanks so much to everyone who came and helped, it would never have gotten done (and not nearly as well) if it had just been Enoch and me. Also, a special thanks to Jodi for that homemade lasagna on moving day, it was superb! And, of course Rachel, and Skip and Scott for being there every day while we were painting and moving and unpacking!
Our living room before we filled it with stuff. I love how the "Bermuda" blue turned out, it's bold and serene at the same time
Our bedroom before we filled it with stuff. I wanted it to look like we were in a forest, and I think the color worked out perfectly
Our kitchen, after we filled it with stuff. We wrapped the blue around the entire south side of the condo, I love how it looks against the cabinets, too.
Practically everyone knows about this already, but two days after we got the place, I accidently tipped over a bucket of paint that I didn't realize wasn't sealed. It only tipped for a second, and I picked it back up. Most of it spilled on the dropcloth, but a pretty good amount of it also got on our pretty beige carpet. See the wall under the window? Before Kris and Rachel mopped as much paint off the carpet as they could, only the trim and the side of the window were blue... they were able to transfer that much paint from the floor to the wall with paper towels! And the spot was still that dark!!!
Kris and Rachel looking up how to remove paint from carpet while I laugh becuase I couldn't cry
The guys came over to help clean it up and get supplies
And that is after about 3 hours of scrubbing...Mostly done by Enoch, Rachel, and especially Tom Mayfield who got a suprising amount out after I had given up!
And now, a short video of the "Awkward Tour". I kifed that from Dan and Jen; it's awkward because not everything is unpacked and random stuff is all over, and it's usually pretty messy.

Dad's Birthday
We recently celebrated my dad's birthday in January by going up to Logan and taking everyone out to dinner. It was fun even though Kyle couldn't make it because he was sick, and Chris wasn't there because his dad was sick. And as a note: of course we got more pics of Frankie than Dad, but she was doing funnier things and making cuter faces-sorry, no offense. Happy birthday Dad (and look how great he looks- he reached 60 lbs lost last week!)
If you haven't already, look at the "I Love You" video below. So adorable!

Dad took Jenny and Frankie out to dinner a couple weeks ago and got this priceless video. It speaks for itself!

Hello, Cupcake
Another late post, but these pics are so great I had to share. For Christmas, Amy and Leslie bought the most creative cupcake book I have ever seen!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! The funny part of the story is that everyone in the house looked through it so much (because it's amazing) that Leslie thought it looked a little too used to wrap up and pass off as new, so I got it early. Yay!! So I took the book to Thanksgiving, and the girls made some of the cupcakes out of it.
Goodbye, Cupcake!
Yay, Two Christmases!
Thanks again for all the beautiful gifts, Kris. Sorry I didn't get pics of all the little pieces, but just so everyone knows: Kris also made earrings for Rachel, and wine glass markers for me, and little knitted rose pins for all the girls. You're such a good friend, and I speak for everyone when I say we can't wait to see you again!!!
*Just kidding, Britta, I know you didn't peek.

Paper Faces on Parade...
The Rynerasons were the "Fast Food Family": Ronald McDonald, the Burger King, and Wendy. Asher is so cute!!! And Rachel...sorry Skip the mask is just too creepy.
Skip said that if they had had a "scariest costume" contest Enoch and I would have won hands-down. We were President Palin and the ghost of John McCain. "You can put lipstick on a pig..."
This is Enoch & I at the church trunk-or-treat the night before Halloween. We toned down the political statement a bit, neither the time nor place. We need a new pose though, I think the Colbert pose is getting over-used.
The Hughes were gardeners, pruning their little flower. Awwww! I tell you though, that little flower kep John & Britta working all night, maybe she was a "wildflower"!Happy Halloween!!!!
