I just got this from my sister in an email, and wanted to share it with everyone. Go ahead and read it; it's a little different not just that same old "live like there's no tomorrow" message (not that there's anything wrong with that!)

16 THINGS THAT IT TOOK ME OVER 50 YEARS
TO LEARN:

by: Dave Barry, a Southern Nationally Syndicated Columnist

1. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

2 If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be 'meetings.'

3. There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness.'

4 People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

5. You should not confuse your career with your life.

6. Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.

7. Never lick a steak knife.

8. The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

9. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.

10. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she's pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

11. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age eleven.

12. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep down inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.

13. A person, who is nice to you, but rude to a waiter, is not a nice person. (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)

14. Your friends love you anyway.

15. Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

16. Thought for the day: Men are like fine wine. They start out as grapes, and it's up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

Home Again, for Good

We're back from Moab, and it's the last trip we're taking until the weekend after Thanksgiving, when we're visiting Enoch's extended family. Thanks to Dad for putting the weekend together & getting a campsite. We were in the Sandflats area, but we spent most of Sunday in Arches hiking.

(We thought this angle of the Windows looked like a face, with a big pig nose sticking up in the middle)

Mini Vacation #2

Enoch, my dad, and I are going on a mini vacation this weekend to southern Utah, Arches National Park. It will be nice to go camping again before it gets too cold. We've only been once so far this year and I really miss it. Enoch and I have only been to Arches a couple times, so it will be nice to explore someplace new.

See y'all Tuesday!!

Fun Weekend

I just got home from a couple days in Denver with Kristiana. She wanted some company for the drive back so I went with her Sunday and flew home today. We stayed with her aunt and uncle, Nancy and Mac (thanks you guys for treating me like royalty, we are truly blessed to know you). My camera's battery died, so I have to wait for Kris to send me the pics we took before I can post them, but stay tuned because we snapped some good ones!!! Including a shot of me putting some cash in a belly dancer's waistband at dinner on Monday, wahoo! Nancy took us to a Moroccan restaurant called Mataam Fez, but I'll post more info once I get some photos.

Also, we kinda had a girl's night Saturday with Jenny and Frankie. They had dinner with us and Dad and Kyle, then we all slept over at my mom's. Frankie's looking cuter and cuter every time I see her, and she is growing so fast!! Can't wait for the next visit.

Evidence That We Actually Went to Bear Lake

(I thought that was a better post title than boring old, "Bear Lake Pics"... Enjoy!)

Dan and Jen arriving with the waverunners after a VERY long wait on the beach...

Which Enoch wasn't very happy about ;)

That's us (I think) We had soo much fun on those things!!!

The sunset on the first night we were there

That's us right after we tipped the first time

Everyone gathered around the campfire, I'm not quite sure what Joe is doing...

Dan...being Dan

That's us for certain, I can tell

Ahhhh...Bear Lake

I just want to thank Dan and Jen for putting together our Labor Day weekend at Bear Lake, it was so much fun. The weather was perfect (except Saturday night, when it was so windy Joe's tent collapsed...multiple times). The water was the perfect temperature, and the wave runners were freakin' sweet. And after we fell in the first time, it was even more fun to ride them because I wasn't afraid of tipiing over anymore! It was also kinda cool for the first time ever for Enoch and I to be the ones to have the stuff that everyone else forgot (like rain ponchos that converted to a rain fly for Joe's tent), and extra propane, and rope. We just stayed at the state park a short distance from the beach and close, but not too close, to the bathrooms. Honestly we didn't do a whole lot other than relaxin' and renting the waverunners, which was exactly what we all needed I think. I will post pictures soon, I haven't had a chance to organize them yet.

In the meantime: Another demotivational poster--
