Viva Las Vegas

Enoch and I just spent the weekend in Las Vegas thanks to his employers!!! It was their treat for hitting over a million dollars last year. We stayed in the Flamingo hotel right on the strip. We wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show, but by the time we went to buy tickets, the seats we could afford were sold out. Oh well, there's always July with Skip and Rachel (right?!). We spent most of the weekend just walking around the casinos that were nearby like the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, and Paris. I'm sorry to say we didn't take any pictures because we left the camera in the hotel room most of the time, but luckily there are plenty of pics on the interweb to supplement. I think our favorite place was the Bellagio because it was sooo fancy and calm compared to the others we visited. We saw the modern art exhibit there with a couple of Enoch's coworkers, and I have to say I have a new respect for Georgia O'Keefe. I really liked the painting with the red stump in the yellow sky. The audio guide said that when O'Keefe finished that painting, she looked at it and realized she had made "two monsters", which is what I love about it: It's both energetic and calming at the same time. Casear's Palace was absolutely enormous, and part of what made it so huge was the fact that you can't just walk in at one end and exit through the other. No, you need to walk all the way to the end and then turn around and exit where you entered. But, that's ok because there was a lot to see. Planet Hollywood may have been just a big with the Mile Mall (or whatever it was called) connected to it. We didn't spend too much time in the Paris hotel, other than the buffet (which was sooo good). Thanks AMS!!
